The New Zealand Government on January 18 announced the New Zealand High School Scholarship (NZSS), offering 1 scholarships for students from grades 18 to 8, with Vietnamese nationality. The scholarship covers 10% of tuition for the first year at one of the country's 50 top high schools.
“The scholarship is designed to help more and more Vietnamese students access and experience New Zealand's advanced education,” said Mr. Ben Burrowes, Asia Regional Director of Education New Zealand (ENZ). , speak.
A new point in this year's program is that candidates who do not qualify for the NZSS scholarship will be considered for the school's scholarship.

Students applying for the NZSS scholarship need to have a grade point average (GPA) of 8 or higher, IELTS certificate (or 5.0 PTE 36/ TOEFL iBT 40/ Duolingo 85/ Cambridge B1 Preliminary 154).
In addition, candidates submit a 1,5-minute video, sharing why they deserve to win the scholarship. Video content includes self-introduction; State the skills you wish to study/improve in New Zealand; How will an education in New Zealand help prepare for the future, as well as how students will adapt to the new learning environment?
The program accepts applications from January 22 to March 1.
NZSS, launched in 2019, is the only New Zealand government scholarship program for high school students. In 2023, 45 Vietnamese students will receive this scholarship.
